We are super excited to share the beautiful wedding of Hannah & Jack. Originally supposed to be married in 2020 (I think we all know what happened next), we are delighted to report that they did in fact enjoy a gorgeous intimate ceremony at Cluny in 2021 and here they are, back to party as originally planned! It was the most special and moving day for them, but it was made all the more special having their beautiful baby girl by their side every step of the way! Read on to find out more about their fun filled celebration. Hannah Says...I’d wanted to get married in a castle since I was a little girl and when I saw Cluny had an open day coming up, I jumped at the chance to go. I went to visit it on my own – Jack works offshore and was away at the time and I fell in love with it immediately. After talking it through with Jack, I secured a date despite Jack not seeing it in person himself. He is so laid-back he would probably have said yes to any venue I picked to be honest. I had never heard of Cluny before and didn’t know anyone who had been married there, so it was nice to be a bit different. Our booking for June 2020 was made in 2018 not long after we got engaged. When the dreaded coronavirus came along, we switched to October of the same year but as numbers were still restricted, we decided to get legally married and hold off on our ‘big day’ until the following October. But then we found out I was pregnant and would no longer fit into my dress! So we postponed again until May of this year.” The Style & Theme...When it was time to throw the big celebration that we had been waiting for, we had 90 day guests plus a further 30 joining at night. Although we were already legally married, we held a ceremony in Cluny’s beautiful chapel. This was actually my favourite feature of the venue. The stained-glass windows are stunning. The church has so much history, and it’s an amazing feeling to walk down the aisle there. We opted for subtle decorations so as not to compete with the elegant feel of the castle. We didn’t have a theme as such, we just went for what we liked. Our flowers and decor were based around the venue. We didn’t want anything too ‘in your face’ that would pull focus away from the castle. It wasn’t just the castle that left a lasting impression on us; the high- quality service that they received has also stuck with them. Fiona Jones, the events manager, was there on the open day when I originally visited and sold the venue so well (although it’s capable of doing that all by itself!). She was with us throughout the numerous date changes and nothing was too much bother for her. Even when we got legally married with our 20 guests, she was there on hand to help out. Natalie Ross was also great!” Would You Recommend Cluny Castle to Others...I would recommend Cluny Castle to anyone planning a wedding, or any event, in a heartbeat. The venue space is stunning and very functional. The Castle grounds are meticulously maintained and overall remarkably beautiful. The bedrooms, kitchen, etc for those staying in the Castle are so cozy, wonderfully decorated, and well equipped with anything you could need. In addition, the Cluny staff (event coordinators, housekeeping, etc) are extremely helpful, communicative, professional, and insightful. They will make sure your event goes off perfectly.
