The region boasts the famous ‘castle trail’ with more castles per acre than anywhere else in the UK including the magnificent Castle Fraser that is only a 5 minute drive away and within a 30 mile radius you will find hill walking, mountain biking, skiing, pony trekking, fishing, ancient standing stones, national parks, historic harbours, beautiful beaches, craggy cliff tops, quaint fishing villages and for golf enthusiasts, a number of award winning golf courses. But of course not forgetting, Aberdeenshire is home to some of the worlds oldest and most famous whisky distilleries, so no visit to this area is complete without discovering the secrets and sampling our 'water of life'. No matter where you are in this beautiful region you will never be far from the exciting hustle and bustle of Aberdeen city. “Cluny Castle will forever be in our hearts! We got married in this stunning castle and it exceeded all of our expectations! We always wanted a venue where we could have both the ceremony and reception on site and a marquee with a view... and what a view it was! We wanted a venue which could host our wedding party for the entire weekend and with the amazing accommodation, we could have stayed forever! The chapel is enchanting and takes your breath away, it is so inviting and when full of family and friends just feels like the warmest place on earth! The castle owner, Cosmo was extremely helpful and the wonderful wedding planner Fiona was outstanding throughout our whole experience! It was difficult to plan from overseas but Fiona was always only a phone call away and after our conversations we felt so relaxed and reassured. On the day of the wedding Fiona was incredible. She made sure our day ran smoothly from start to finish and made sure we had the day of our dreams and beyond! The biggest thank you to all of you! A dream team!”​​
