The region boasts the famous ‘castle trail’ with more castles per acre than anywhere else in the UK including the magnificent Castle Fraser that is only a 5 minute drive away and within a 30 mile radius you will find hill walking, mountain biking, skiing, pony trekking, fishing, ancient standing stones, national parks, historic harbours, beautiful beaches, craggy cliff tops, quaint fishing villages and for golf enthusiasts, a number of award winning golf courses. But of course not forgetting, Aberdeenshire is home to some of the worlds oldest and most famous whisky distilleries, so no visit to this area is complete without discovering the secrets and sampling our 'water of life'.
