Filming

Visually stunning and historically fascinating, it has attracted some of the world’s leading film makers and has provided locations for a number of high profile films over the last few years including 'The Queen', starring Helen Mirren. Doubling as Balmoral during the filming of the highly acclaimed film, Mirren's portrayal of the monarch won her several accolades, including the Academy Award for best actress in a leading role.
